Sibling sessions were created to enable a child to develop and maintain a positive relationship with their sibling. The therapist will assess and address ways to improve communicating and relating to each other, especially when one child has therapeutic needs. Strategies to facilitate appropriate turn-taking, waiting, and helping children express feelings of frustration or excitement between siblings will be addressed. Therapists can provide parents with home activity suggestions to promote better relationships and play between siblings at home. Sessions are an hour long. Talk to your therapist if you are interested in a sibling session!
