Course Description:
This course provides an introduction to assessment and treatment using a current NDT approach. Assessment, task analysis, treatment planning, and treatment adjuncts will be covered. There is LAB and practicum with children to allow experience and time for questions. This is a great course for therapists new to pediatrics or therapists that are changing their emphasis to pediatrics. This course fills quickly, register early!
Instructors:
The Instructors for this course are Kacy Hertz, PT and Madonna Nash, OTR/L. Both Kacy and Madonna are NDT Instructors and have taught extensively over the past 20 years.
Course Objectives
The participant will:
1) Understand the enablement model of assessment as it relates to children with CNS impairments.
2) Be able to create functional goals for children with CNS impairments.
3) Understand task analysis and how it meshes with assessment and treatment
4) Understand basic handling concepts and have a chance to practice with children and each other
5) Be able to assess and treat a child during practicum.
