 Course Description:

After a quick review of lower extremity assessment this course will be 100% hands-on! The participants will partner up and measure, wrap, post and remove a fiberglass cast. All materials and a step-by-step guide will be provided.  It is advisable to have had some exposure to casting and assessment of the lower extremity, however, this course will be basic and appropriate for the beginner.  It will be a great companion with the gait course.  We have set up the weekend to allow choices-

Take any course (Gait, Casting, SI for PTs) for $300, two for $550 or all three for $800!

Course Objectives

The participant will:

1)              Review and practice LE joint measurements.

2)              Learn the components of successful casting.

3)              Practice wrapping a fiberglass cast.

4)              Practice posting a cast.

5)              Practice removing a cast with a cast saw.

6)              Be knowledgeable about follow-up/home programming

                 post casting.
