The speech therapists at City Kids, Inc. have a wide range of experience and expertise in all areas of speech and language development, including oral motor assessment and treatment, articulation/phonology, language disordersswallowing and feeding, pragmatic/social language, and sensory integration.   The therapists also utilize principles based in NDT for children with movement disorders.  City Kids, Inc. sees children with a range of disorders and diagnoses including children with genetic syndromes, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Down Syndrome, cerebral palsy, specific language problems, speech disorders, and children with craniofacial anomalies. 

Caitlin Burke, MA, CCC-SLP joined the City Kids family in 2007.  She received her Bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University and her Master’s degree from the University of Kansas.  Caitlin has experience working with a variety of diagnoses including: learning disabilities, autism, craniofacial/genetic syndromes, articulation disorders, feeding disorders, and verbal apraxia, as well as participating in speech groups for preschoolers (Little Learners).  Caitlin leads social groups for school-age children: Simply Social during the school year, and Learning Everyday Activities through Play (LEAP) which is a summer social program.  Caitlin is the Lekotek liason for City Kids.  Her continuing education experiences include training in: Social Thinking, Socially Speaking, auditory processing, executive dysfunction, the Overland SensoriMotor approach to feeding, TEACCH, introduction to NDT, Beckman Oral Motor, and Sensory Integration.  She utilizes the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), augmentative communication, and adapted toys/games into her therapy sessions.

Kaylee Tolley, MS, CCC-SLP 

Kaylee joined the City Kids family in 2013. She has experience working with a variety of disorders including autism spectrum disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, genetic/chromosomal syndromes, articulation/phonology, and expressive and receptive language delays and deficits. Kaylee’s continuing education experiences include: Language Acquisition through Motor Planning (AAC), Motivating Children with Autism to Speak,  DIR/Floortime, Introduction to NDT, attention disorders, and the Kaufman Speech to Language Protocol. Kaylee has completed training for the SOS Feeding Approach.  She runs SOS Feeding Groups for children of a variety of ages.  Kaylee is the Lekotek liaison for City Kids.    

Lisa Vanselow, M.A., CCC-SLP 

Lisa joined the City Kids family in 2015. She received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa and her Master’s degree from Truman State University. Lisa has experience working with a variety of disorders including childhood apraxia of speech, articulation and phonology, autism spectrum disorders, and receptive and expressive language disorders. Lisa leads a speech-language group for preschoolers (Little Learners). Her continuing education experiences include: It Takes Two to Talk Hanen Certification, DIR/Floortime, Social Thinking, the Kaufman Speech to Language Protocol, PROMPT, and Orton Gillingham reading program.
